Parent Consultations

Parent Consultations

When your child is struggling, it can feel relentless. You might be noticing anxiety, low mood, school avoidance, emotional outbursts, shutdowns, or just that they’re not themselves anymore. You’ve Googled/AI’d. You’ve asked school. You’ve had well-meaning advice – some unsolicited. And you’re still left thinking: What is actually going on – and what do I do now?

You don’t have to figure this out on your own.

As a therapist working with adolescents and young adults across the UK, I offer parent consultations to give you a calm, non-judgemental space to think clearly about what’s happening and what might help.

What we do in a consultation

This is a 45-minute online or telephone session focused entirely on you as the parent or carer. Together, we:

  • Make sense of what you’re noticing (and what might sit underneath it)
  • Consider whether this looks like anxiety, depression, OCD, emotional regulation difficulties, neurodivergence, or something else
  • Talk through what is developmentally typical — and what may need support
  • Identify clear, practical next steps so you leave knowing what to try (and what not to)

I work in a neurodivergent-affirming way. That means I am careful not to confuse masking with coping, or difference with disorder. I hold your child’s voice and needs at the centre, even when they are not in the room.

When a parent consultation can help

This is for you if:

  • You know something isn’t right, but you’re unsure what
  • Your child always insists they’re ‘fine’ but something feels off
  • School or other services haven’t listened or responded
  • Previous support didn’t feel like the right fit

I can also help you think about how to approach school, CAMHS, GPs or local services, and how to communicate your child’s needs clearly and confidently.

My aim is that by the end of the call, you feel lighter. More informed. More equipped. Not blamed – supported.
