Parent-Led CBT is a short-term evidence-based intervention for parents/carers of children aged 4-12 which uses CBT principles to equip them to support their child to overcome difficulties.
Parent-led CBT is particularly effective for children struggling with anxiety, difficulty regulating emotions, exhibiting behaviour that challenges and emotionally based school avoidance.
It’s effective because parents and carers know their child better than anyone else. They also have the time and opportunity to make the biggest impact.
Parent Led-CBT is a short-term therapy offered as a block of 6 sessions including 4 50-minute video sessions, 2 30-minute phone sessions usually across 8-10 weeks. Additional follow-up sessions can also be provided.
